Ministry: Russia’s agricultural exports rises 17.7% in Jan–Jun

MOSCOW, Jul 12 (PRIME) -- Exports of Russian agricultural products excluding trade with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 17.7% on the year to U.S. $7.346 billion in January–June, the agriculture ministry said in a statement on Wednesday citing data of the Federal Customs Service.

Grain accounted for 37.1% of the total exports, including wheat that accounted for 27.7%. Fish and fish products accounted for 19.7%, and vegetable oils accounted for 15.4%, the ministry said.

Exports of Russian wheat increased 21.3% to 11.276 million tonnes in the period, of barley rose 8.2% to 1.112 million tonnes, of sugar surged 66 times to 115,400 tonnes, of pork doubled to 9,200 tonnes, of poultry soared 50% to 49,800 tonnes.

In January–May, 50% of Russia’s agricultural exports went to five countries – Egypt, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and South Korea.
